Emily Reid brings over 25 years of hands-on property experience to Reid Developments, offering specialist consulting services across landscape design and concept planning, financial feasibility, and site analysis — helping other developers make smarter, better-informed decisions at every stage of a project.
Her background is unusually broad. Emily's career began in 1996 with a strategic property acquisition in Hampton, Victoria, and has since spanned residential subdivision, multi-unit development, land relocation, rural and acreage holdings, and large-scale urban infill projects. She has overseen property developments in Victoria with a combined Gross Realisation Value exceeding $80 million.
One of her most notable projects involved a 9,450m² site in Warrnambool — a complex, multi-iteration development journey that progressed through various design stages, including a 100-apartment affordable housing proposal, a 73-apartment and townhouse scheme supported by senior council and state government, an approved 35-house and townhouse outcome, and ultimately an approved Child Care Centre and 15-townhouse development. This experience gave Emily a rare, ground-level understanding of the planning system — its pressures, its politics, and its possibilities.
Emily holds a strong working knowledge of State Planning Policy, Local Planning Schemes, and regional housing strategies. She has presented to property groups on Local and State Planning Policy changes and has been involved in group consultation on the design and production of Specialist Disability Accommodation.
Her consulting work reflects a genuine commitment to environmentally considered, socially inclusive development — incorporating native and indigenous planting, innovative design concepts, and community-minded outcomes that seek to minimise the environmental footprint of population growth while delivering much-needed housing.
Qualifications & Expertise
Emily's formal credentials are extensive and deliberately cross-disciplinary:
This combination of design education, horticultural expertise, real estate licensing, and lived development experience allows Emily to engage credibly across the full spectrum of a project — from initial site identification and financial feasibility through to concept design, landscape planning, and planning policy navigation.
